Guatemala’s Comision de Belice replaced
As we have reported, the Comision de Belice which was an arm of the Guatemalan Foreign Ministry established to monitor the Guatemalan dispute was dismantled late last week. The Foreign Minister, Fernando Carreras, said it was dissolving the agency because it had failed to advice the government in a timely fashion of the change to the Belize Referendum Act in 2008. Within days, Guatemala moved to quickly appoint a new agency. It comprises of Minister of Internal Affairs, Mauricio Lopez Bonilla, Defense Minister Ulises Anzueto, and Ricardo Bustamante, secretary to the National Security Council.
Beware my fellow Belizeans, this move does not look too good. Perhaps they are preparing to take some drastic action? Do research, lets scrutinze the background of these individuals. It smells fishy? Remember, if it quacks like a duck it is a duck?
I have to tell the Guats this: NOT EVEN YOUR OWN PEOPLE WANT TO BE IN GUATEMALA. Thosands of them are now BELIZEANS.
I mean thousands.
Retired ceo, you’re right. Every one of the Guats appointed to the new group, whatever it is, is connected with the military or paramilitary apparatus of Guatemala. Hardly diplomatic or peace loving!
If GOB won’t wake up to the threat of force against us, the rest of us need to.
Guatemala, knows better to not try any thing stupid. The ploy that there President is trying to play only shows the world that they, are a military Government. They are playing the intimidation game,
it only plays to our advantage.
As I recall going to school in Belize, Our Belizean Land Mass including the Cayes adds up to
8,866.5 Square miles of Territory. All Belizeans Stand firm that NONE of this Territory will be up
negociation.
