Ramel Flores

The jewel has been getting significant coverage in the international media for its many attributes. The spotlight in Ireland, however, is on a young Belizean. Fourteen year of Ramel Flores, is the son of well known Belizean journalist, Melvin Flores and his wife. Ramel is fourteen years old and is making a bid to become the first non-national member from Northern Ireland in the UK Youth Parliament. In acknowledging his birthplace, Ramel told the Irish press that he wants to break down barriers between nationals and non-nationals. He also wants to see the development of “a diverse society where we no longer judge each other by the colour of our skin or spiritual beliefs but our qualities.” The elections are scheduled for March seventh.
