Mother wants answers about December death of infants
The death of the babies has prompted other families to come forward with their own experiences even prior to the deaths reported in the first twenty days of May. Today, a grieving mother, Jacklin Marroquin provided a detailed account of how her premature baby, Jade Isana Scarlette Marroquin, died at the K.H.M.H. on December ninth, 2012. An autopsy according to the mother put the cause of death as “septic shock due to neonatal sepsis.” Marroquin’s heart-breaking story records that her premature baby was getting better and then suddenly died twelve days after birth, because she could not fight the deadly bug in the hospital’s ward. According to Marroquin, baby Jade was infected by another baby and that at the time, the unit was congested with too many babies. She writes that her baby, “died because an infection got to her…not because she was not getting better on her own.” She continues saying that death could have been avoided if the proper measures were in place, and it’s so very sad because baby Jade was her only child. The grieving mother also recalls that the ward had been sprayed because of the bacteria and that at the time another baby had died…this was back in December 2012. The complete story of baby Jade can be read on our website at www.channel5belize.com

Channel 5 or some other media should set up a special web address where Belizeans can report the problems they have had with KHMH and other hospitals. And the reports should be shared publicly or with some NON-GOVERNMENTAL, NON-POLITICAL group that cares a little bit.
Keeping things secret is necessary for the problems to continue.
Dear Channel 5 Team
…………- so people at KHMH can learn how much pain they have caused to the parents. It’s a shame that these same people are still in charge at the KHMH- doing the big talk now. If they would have acted on the situation instead of ignoring it already in December, all those 12 babies that lost their life’s this month could be alive. I hope the parents will sue the hospital and PM Barrow will send the Management of the Hospital away. They should actually be locked up in prison- shame on you guys! My heart goes to the parents- may all their babies rest in peace.
To you Big Shot Attorneys: Instead of putting your efforts into these known gang banging criminals, here is your chance to do something for your people and the love of your country. Invite parents who have been affected to join a class action lawsuit against GOB(KHMH) and sue the heck out of these people. This will set an example & hopefully they will take their responsibilities more seriously.
