Wife of Guatemalan national asks Human Rights Attorney for help

The report from the government on the shooting of Sacasa says that the soldiers on patrol found a make shift thatch roof shed within Belizean territory. And while securing the area, Sacasa entered the area and fired at them. The soldiers then returned fire. That version of events is different from reports by news organizations in Peten, Guatemala which claim that Sacasa was shot in Guatemala and not the Chiquibul. News Five has obtained a copy of a letter written on behalf of Sacasa’s wife by Human Rights Attorney in Peten. The gist of the letter is that Sacasa is being held against his will and his wife, Irma Elizabeth Polanco Flores wants the matter investigated. An official from Tikalito, Edgar Perez Amador, took the wife’s complaint to Human Rights Attorney, Jose Eduardo Puga Castellanos, who then forwarded the complaint to the Guatemalan Consul in Benque Viejo.
