Belize and the U.S. partner to protect rights of Belizean workers
The Ambassador of Belize in the United States, Nestor Mendez today signed a joint declaration with U.S Secretary of Labor, Thomas Perez, in which both countries have agreed to work cooperatively to improve the knowledge of Belizeans working abroad of their rights, irrespective of their migration status. Additionally, Letters of Arrangement with the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor, as well as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration were also endorsed with the respective heads of departments. The purpose of the initiative is to provide an established means for the Belizean consular representatives to make submissions to labor authorities on behalf of Belizean workers whose rights are being violated.

This is so stupid is this what the us embassy is doing these days wow what a farse shows the level of the people the us is picking as ambassadors they know nothing and they are useless.
It is support for workers who are Belizeans and Living in the U S. Americans are hard working people and they would stay in the offices for long hours. Most Belizeans would agree that getting a good job is great but keeping that job and improving on it is better. Some people will never get those opportunities to grow or even improve within their line of work or be promoted within their organization. Some might even be forced to leave due to ill treatment or even low wages. A lot of Belizean are also in search of the American dream. If the law is their to protect those rights in the workplace, I stand behind these improvements and for those that post negatively against it. ( Shut Up ).
