Antonio Edwards dies after being injured by rosewood flitch

Antonio Edwards

On January eighth, 2012, Antonio Edwards, a resident of Jacintoville in the Toledo District, was seriously injured when a large flitch of rosewood fell off a flatbed truck and crushed his legs.  Edwards was returning from church that Sunday afternoon when the vehicle reportedly came speeding around a curve, flinging the log in his direction.  At the time the father was along with his three-year-old son who, fortunately, avoided injury.  The life-threatening ordeal resulted in Edwards fracturing both legs and had to be airlifted to the K.H.M.H. for treatment.  In the wake of the incident, the family complained that the trucker, identified as Rodwell Williams, also of Jacintoville, was not assisting with Edwards’ medical expenses which kept mounting by the day.  It has been almost two years and a half later and sadly, he has lost his battle to recovery.  On Wednesday, our colleagues at PGTV reported that Edwards had passed away, leaving behind a wife and four kids.  It is believed that his death is the result of complications due to the accident.

So Sad… My thoughts and prayers went to the deceased and his loved ones. Also for the uncompassionate driver of the truck; that the Most High deal with him/his heart/life accordingly!! This is so unfortunate the man was minding his business coming from church, gets injured and the driver has not offered the family any kind of support! Actually that is HEARTLESS!! I pray for this WORLD!!! It is in bad shape when one can knowingly injure someone and it was not intentional I get it, but still it was b/c ur rosewood was not secured on your truck. You can go on with ur life after you displaced 6 other life’s and not reach out to them. That is just sickening!! I pray at this very moment that I never treat my fellow humans that way. PLease help us all Most High

I am so sad for the family, especially the kids, you Mr. Truck Driver, please do the right thing at least for the children. Just imagine it was you or one of your family members.
