Taxi operator clings to life after being shot to the head

The gun-violence continued through to the wee hours of this morning. Thirty-one year old Albert Castro is clinging to life at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after he was shot to the head on Fabers Road around three-thirty this morning. The taxi operator was in the company of a female friend in his taxi when a bicycle gunman rode up from the opposite direction and fired several shots at them. Castro was hit to the head and the vehicle careened off the road and into a ditch near the corner of Fabers Road and Watermelon Street. Castro’s twenty-six year old friend fled the scene and was later located at her home unhurt. Castro was rushed to the K.H.M.H. in a critical condition. While a motive has not been ascertained, police has since detained two persons in connection with this attempted murder.
