Malcolm “Frisky” Wagner shot & killed – family says he was lured to his death

Malcolm “Frisky” Wagner

Approximately twelve hours after the lifeless body of Samuel Miguel was found, several shots rang out on Flamboyant Street in the Lake Independence Area. Malcolm “Frisky” Wagner was targeted by a gunman in a car. His family believes he was lured to his murder because he interrupted viewing the World Cup and headed out of his house after receiving a phone call. Minutes later on Saturday afternoon he was dead. Duane Moody also has this story.

Twenty-four year old Malcolm Wagner was shot three times from behind by a gunman in a vehicle at the corner of Poinsetta and Flamboyant Streets. Wagner, who was affectionately known as Frisky, died minutes later at the K.H.M.H. while receiving treatment.

“A male person, who was identified as Malcolm Wagner, twenty-four years old of a Flamboyant Street, Belize City, suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower back—two to the back and one to the right side leg. Based on that response that police did an initial investigation reveal that Malcolm Wagner was standing at the corner of Poinsetta and Flamboyant Streets sometime around five-thirty p.m., when a vehicle drove by with a male person in there who fired several shots at him.”

Found at the scene were five expended shells, Wagner’s cell phone and the TV remote. According to the family, he was at home watching a World Cup football game when he received a phone call and hurried to the lane. Moments later he was fired upon. They believe he was lured to his death.

“My bredda mi di watch football. I know he rather watch football than any other sport. He dah mi wah huge football fan. The family says that while he is not a gang member, he was no saint and has had run-ins with the law. In fact, one year ago, he was shot at his Flamboyant Street home, just a stone’s throw away from this recent incident.

Sgt. Ismael Westby

“Malcolm Wagner has been known to the police. We have had different incidents involving Mister Wagner with some gang related incidents. More or less we have an incident jut last year around this same time where he was being shot likewise at the same location. A person was charged in respect to that incident and the matter is before the courts.”

Duane Moody

“Any suspects in this incident?”

Sgt. Ismael Westby

“So far, we don’t have no name in respect to this information and we are working on that.”

Flora Flowers

“All dehn bwai weh dehn claim dehn say dehn dah gang from PIV, I know dehn hate my bredda to dehn guts. So if dehn di ride with PIV, then I know he take my bredda as an enemy.”

“Well all I know he had one tattoo on his arm weh say third world general. I don’t know if they woulda consider that as a gang, but my bredda born and raise on Flamboyant Street. And he always say that if dehn wah kill he, dehn wah kill he right pan this street and so said, so done.”
