Belize City woman conned out of $600

An unsuspecting forty year old Belize City clerk has been badly deceived. She reports to the police that a man she knew conned her with rent money. The woman says that on June nineteenth, she paid six hundred dollars to him toward rent for a house located at the corner of Sixth and Saint Thomas Streets. He was no stranger to her and he promised to hand over the keys for the house and the receipt for the money. But he never did and attempts to contact him have been fruitless. She has since learnt the house he offered for rent is not his nor is he in charge of it. Police are looking for the Freetown Road resident pending charges of Obtaining Property by Deception.
