Ramada Princess upgrades rooms and donates outdated goods
Today several Belize City based organizations received donations from the Ramada Belize City Princess. Two months ago the Princess entered into a partnership with the Ramada, owned by the international hotels giant Wyndham Group. The Princess Hotel and Casino became the Ramada Belize City Princess, and in addition to a complete rebranding, the partnership also resulted in an extensive upgrading of rooms and facilities. The hotel offers one hundred and sixty rooms, and televisions in all of them were upgraded. So what happened to the perfectly good, if outdated television sets which were replaced? Well that’s what we found out this morning.
Erol Olcan, General Manager, Ramada Belize City Princess
“Our Chairman, Mr. Surdi Oskan, has asked me to get in touch with organizations like the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Dororthy Menzies, Mount Olive Adventist Church, Sister Cecilia Home, the National For Hope Foundation and the mosque, Islamic community, and I did get in touch with you and then he asked me to donate those televisions to those establishments. That is the reason we are here. We are going to donate to you one hundred and sixty televisions.”
Lily Bowman, Director General, Belize Red Cross
“The General Manager told us to use it the way we see fit, so of course we will be discussing it as a team but we have training needs in every one of our branches, so that is one way that we can use them. We also have needs to raise funds for our programs that are not normally funded through project funding…programs that we usually sustain through our regular fund raising, so it could be used like that, but we haven’t really decided yet.”
Erol Olcan
“I think it’s a really good thing because as a hotel we are not only serving the hotel guests or the guests coming from outside the country, but we are serving the community as well and we are working and we are almost hand to hand with the community in Belize City and the country of Belize.”
Apart from the replacement of the television sets, there have been significant upgrades in the rooms, including the replacement of all beds and toiletries.

These old piece of junk Tv sets should go to a land fill instead.
I have stayed at that dirty hotel and the TV’s are junk.
Not outdated but 100% junk.
This is an insult to all Belizeans by the Turkeys.
Lets give our junk to the poor Belizeans so we do not have to pay a truck to take the trash to the dump.
Send them back to Turkey.
