Both the arson and the sting operation that resulted in the arrest of a couple involved in the extortion of eight thousand dollars from an Orange Walk businessman also led to the detention of four other persons. Police confirmed today that known affiliates of the transnational criminal gang, Mara Salvatrucha or MS-13 are operating in Belize. Aside from Edwin Flores and Francisco Rodriguez, three other MS-Thirteen affiliates were arrested and charged for displaying gang insignia. They are Jose Reyes, Hilberto Ruiz Senior and Elvin Guiterrez.

“The MS-13, the way they operate, they do a lot of extortion especially in particular to Central American immigrants who are working here in Belize, but the threat and retaliation does not occur in Belize; it occurs in El Salvador. Their operation is kinda sneaky as it pertains to extortion and so forth from the immigrants who are working here in Belize, but the repercussions occur in Salvador. So we have to really gather good intelligence and do quality investigation in order to deal with the MS-13 here in Belize.”
The men are believed to have been living the area of the Newtown Barracks and Kings Park.

I congratulate the police dept,for all effort to stop undesirables that no have no mother to commit any type of crimes and believe me this animals they are only the tip of the iceberg they are very well organized and probably the master mind is around watching and planning the next target or move.I bet they are the responsables for the murder of the taco vendor .It is not fair that person dying like this .I love BELIZE with all my heart ,and BELIZE open her arms and welcome from different parts of the world to have a better way of life specially from some Central America countries were this kind of aborts from evil come from. BELIZE! please beware of this type of people and most important be careful with your teenage kids because they prey on this kids to commit most of the crimes.AUTHORITIES PLEASE ERASE THIS KIND OF ANIMALS FROM BELIZE, OUR COUNTRY DO NOT DESERVE THIS OR MORE PAIN WE, ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH FROM THE GOVERTMENT WITH ALL THE MADNESS AND CORRUPTION GOING ON , AND OUR prime minister said on TV WE HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT!
