Doctor disputes size of K.H.M.H. contracts he received

Also at the house meeting, the PM said that Dr. Cardo Martinez received over five hundred thousand dollars worth of contracts from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital out of a million dollars that had been donated by the Venezuelan government for the upgrading of the K.H.M.H. But according to an enraged Martinez, he never got contracts for that amount. Martinez says he has the proof that in fact only one hundred and eighty-five thousand, eight hundred and fourteen dollars and forty cents in contracts were awarded to him. And Martinez says the PM is discrediting his business.

“That is absolutely not true. There is no truth to that and I am glad you came so that I can show you in black and white, the documents that show that nowhere close to that that I won any bid. I was able to tender and you can see that it’s a very professional tender and I would hope that the viewers can see it on television and out of that tender I only got a little over one hundred and eighty-five thousand dollars. The people to whom this tender was submitted are still alive, which is the past administrators of the Karl Heusner, including Dr. Rosado and presently Doctor Ghazy that is there. And how did I come about to participate? Because traditionally, the Karl Heusner would call people around who are in the business of medical supplies and I was called and I submitted a tender that you can see there for yourself, along with the purchase order that was approved. You will see that in my tender, not only do I describe the equipments that we are pretending to supply, but also the characteristics of those equipment and also the reports of the USDA with respect to the individual equipments we had purporting to supply. A hundred and eighty-five thousand is far away from five hundred thousand dollars and that’s the clarification that I want to make and I also want to make the clarification because in the context that it was said, I want tell the prime minister that he get his real evidence check because these things are not right.”
