Watchman Slashed at Eight Miles….

The third murder for the weekend occurred on Saturday. Just before nine a.m., Hattieville Police were called out to a boat yard just before mile eight on the George Price Highway. There, they discovered the mutilated body of forty-two year old Jose Portillo. The Honduran watchman was chopped multiple times to the body and head by a man police believe he socialized with just moments before he was killed. Rural Executive Officer, Inspector Frederick Gordon says that they are looking for another Honduran national that worked with Portillo, who they believe can assist them with their investigation.

“Ladyville police visited an area between miles seven and a half on the George Price Highway whereby upon making inquiries they found a body of a male person apparently dead. He was transported to the Belize City hospital where he had multiple stab wounds on him.”

“Who made the discovery?”

“It was someone that lived in the area that called the police and the police went there and checked it.”

“The investigation is showing so far what to have happened?”
Insp. Frederick Gordon
“Well, our investigation reveals that he was socializing with his good friend in that area where he works and apparently something went wrong. At this time, we are looking for the person in question in respect of the matter that was along with him; he hasn’t been detained as yet but we are looking for him. We believe that reasonable information could be obtained from him in respect of the person that we found dead.”

“Now we understand that a murder weapon has been recovered as well.”

“Yes, the police found a knife, a ten inch knife on the scene with what appears to be blood stains on it. We have retained it as exhibit and we are sending ti for testing at this time.”
Police are looking for Honduran national, Armando Sosa, who they believe can assist them in their investigations.
What happened to this murder case? Another one dropped, left behind because it was not one of a superior person here in Belize? These statements are false, if I was to bash on the police and on their investigations they will look so ridiculous. I wonder if they do take their jobs seriously, majority of these statements are not right.
