Persons Detained But No Arrests in Crawford Murder
While a connection is yet to be established between the Saturday morning murders of Raheem Crawford and Ernest Meighan, police have detained several persons of interest. News Five understands that Crawford’s pre-dawn execution was the result of an ongoing feud between two Belize City gangs. The twenty-year-old was waylaid while riding a motorcycle on Gibnut Street sometime after three a.m. when a deadly spray of bullets caught him and twenty-five-year-old Kevin Faber. Crawford, who was suspected of murder in four separate incidents since the start of the year, would not survive his injuries. His relative, who is reportedly visiting from the States, was hit in the left leg and the back of the neck. This afternoon, head of CIB, Superintendent Hilberto Romero gave an update on the police investigation.
Supt. Hilberto Romero, O.C., Crimes Investigation Branch
“The murder of Raheem Crawford, he was along with one Kevin Faber. The information we have is that one gunman came from behind a vehicle and fired shots at both of them. Raheem Crawford succumbed to his injuries. Again we are working on this case. We are speaking to persons in the area and we continue that investigation.”

“Sir, do you guys have any persons you’re looking at specifically?”
Supt. Hilberto Romero
“For that case, no we don’t have any specific person we are looking at. Again, we believe that it is gang-related and we are looking at several persons 01:04:15 Out:…as possible suspects.”
Reporter
“Sir is it another lead that you’re looking on, the murder of the gentleman Mr. Raheem Crawford?”
Supt. Hilberto Romero
“Again, that’s a theory we are also following up on. We continue with the interviews and recording statements and at the end of the day we are asking for the public support that they can call the 922 TIPS and pass on the information so that we can follow this up and try to solve this murder. I know he was a person of interest and he had been detained before pending investigation of those incidents.”
Reporter
“You mentioned it was gang rivalry, between which gangs?”
Supt. Hilberto Romero
“We believe that the murder is a gang retaliation.”
Reporter
“Between which two gangs?”
Supt. Hilberto Romero
“Well I cannot say which two gangs but certainly it was gang affiliated.”

See and this is why these men that did this will be next to him in the ground also just one big circle over and over and over with no end.
