Gilroy Usher Jr. Acquitted of Aggravated Assault
Today, Gilroy Usher Junior walked out of court after charges of aggravated assault and harm brought against him were thrown out. Magistrate Dale Cayetano did so because the complainant in the matter, Gabriel Casey took the stand and declined to testify. That would likely have been enough, but to make matters worse, the witness, a police constable, was not present when he was called. The incident occurred in August 2012. Usher Junior, the manager of Monica’s Pawn Shop, was paying Casey to serve summons on delinquent debtors. He claims that he visited Casey’s office because the bailiff was collecting monies but not performing the service. A struggle ensued between both men, and a police constable, who was present, allegedly had to intervene. During the struggle Usher Junior’s gun also fell to the floor. Usher Junior had maintained that he did not initiate any altercation and at no time did he attempt to introduce his gun into the struggle. The Police constable was called to appear three times before the magistrate struck out the matter, telling Usher Junior that he was free to go.
Shame on you Casey-second time you fail to testify-last time Policeman punched you out and knock out yu teeth you put tail between legs and run-now this. If police and bailiffs are incompetent, then of course the whole system will fail. They should sanction the Policeman who disrespects the court also Whylie.
