San Pedro Cop Busted for Theft
A police officer attached to the San Pedro Police Formation will be tried for the crime of Theft. Twenty-six year old Police Constable Dean Perez, originally from Belize City, has been accused of stealing six hundred dollars in cash and a cell phone from a San Pedro Town resident while carrying out an investigation. The charge against Perez stems from an incident that occurred on October fifth when the cop visited the residence of Jose Hernandez inquiring about his identity. Hernandez told police that when he was in the process of providing his documents, Perez allegedly took his identification cards with the cash placed between them. Hernandez also claims that Perez took away his cell phone valued at four hundred dollars. Perez was fingered in an ID parade and on Tuesday, he was arrested and charged for Theft. He was offered bail and ordered to keep away from Hernandez and is scheduled to reappear in court on December fifth. Perez, who has recently been transferred to San Pedro Police, has been placed on interdiction with half-salary. He is also facing an internal investigation and will be taken before a police tribunal on similar charges.
Damm is everyone in this gov. A thief looks like it to me
There is more happening in San Pedro. Police are the biggest thief and drug traffickers on this Island. When GSU come out here all the big drug lords are way up the cost or on other small island hiding. The coast Guard know this too. They call these guys to go hide so business can resume as normal when the GSU are gone. I have seen Coast Guard doing business for beers one time with the drug lord from San Juan.
Mein the things that happen here on this island is so out of the ordinary. That is the reason why I don’t like these creatures called Police. Them hurt innocent people rather than jail the bad ones. Lock up hard working men for a lil stick of weed which they use to make hard work easier. While the Big dog and police drink and play together. When they are partying getting drunk they are armed. But what can we say and do… ??? NOTHING.
I GUESS HE’S ALREADY ON THE PAGE OF “EXPOSING THE POLICE BRUTALITY IN BELIZE” hope they post him so everyone can see him. It’s hard to say it but we seem to be heading the same way like the Mexican police force, where corruption and impunity among them seem to have no end. If no NGO or some sort of group make a stand to halt this problem, we’ll end up like our compadres in Mexico and it will be very hard to live with out killings being the outcome.
