2 Dangriga teenagers get 10 years each for firearm offences
In Dangriga, there is one gun less in circulation. On Saturday afternoon, police searched a house in the New Site area where they found a pistol with a magazine loaded with a live round of ammunition hidden in a knapsack in the bedroom of Linda Usher. Present at the house during the time of search were forty-one year old Usher, eighteen year old Israel Usher, nineteen year old Troy Augustus, eighteen year old Nanigie Lewis and a female minor. The group was escorted to the Dangriga Police Station along with the firearm and ammunition and all were charged for Keeping Firearm and Ammunition without a License. This morning, when they were arraigned, Israel and Augustus pleaded guilty and were sentenced to ten years in prison.
YOU GOT TO BR KIDDING! BELIZE GUN LAW HAS TO BE REPEALED. iT DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL.
Just noticed this site is ran on WordPress. A news site using WP?! Now isn’t that weird! Just as weird and stupid as this article. TEN years?! Article says, “…all were charged for Keeping Firearm and Ammunition without a License. ” ALL?! Belize lawmakers aren’t so brilliant. Wouldn’t it make more sense and real justice to charge only the owner of the weapon and nobody else? Something doesn’t sound right here. That’s like finding a weapon in a school during school hours and taking every student and every teacher in the school to the police station and charging them all for that one weapon. Simply odd, fishy, and crazy all wrapped in one.
