Crooked Tree Deacon to Stand Trial for Carnal Knowledge

A fifty-three year old deacon from Crooked Tree has been committed to stand trial in the January session of the Supreme Court for four counts of carnal knowledge of a minor. The abuse allegedly happened between the period of July second 2012 and December fourth, 2014. A preliminary inquiry ended with a paper committal today for Michael Buldying, aka “Michael Davis”, to stand trial. His attorney, Hubert Elrington, did not challenge the evidence against Buldying so Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser found that the evidence before the court formed a prima facie case against the accused. Buldying was told that his next court appearance will be on January twentieth, 2015 at the Supreme Court. The accused had initially been charged with only one count of carnal knowledge, but within the period of September 2013 and now, he was charged with an additional three counts. He also has a pending Indecent Assault charge before the court for which he is presently on trial. In the case of the carnal knowledge charges, Prosecutor, Corporal Carmen Selgado, is relying on statements from the victim as well as seven other persons including one from a Human Services Department employee and another from a relative of the accused.  When asked if he has any alibi witnesses, Bulyding furnished the names of five persons, but one of them is a witness for the prosecution so he was informed that he has a week to give the court notice in writing if he has any other witness he wishes to call at trial.
