Punta Gorda Police Officers Beat Murder Rap in Dangriga Court

Two P.G. cops are tonight free of the July 2012 murder of Michael “Street” Valerio. Valerio was beaten to death allegedly by Police Constables Frederico Tush and Modesto Cucul in a drunken brawl and today, when they appeared in the Dangriga Supreme Court for a trial with jury, the cops were acquitted of the charge. Reports were that the forty-seven-year-old murder victim had allegedly stolen a bicycle belonging to one of the officers, who then set chase after him. Valerio was reportedly caught on the verandah of Central Bar on Front Street in Punta Gorda Town and was beaten to a pulp. An hour later, Valerio was taken to the PG hospital but died shortly after. Themla Coc and Carl Enriquez appeared on behalf of prosecutor, Leroy Banner, since they had reportedly identified Tush and Cucul at the scene of the murder. Both cops beat the murder rap today with the help of their attorneys; Tush who was represented by Bryan Neal, while Cucul was represented by Dickie Bradley. Justice Denis Hanomansingh presided over the trial. So both cops are home tonight.
They got the judge that walks them all.

This is a shame. There is no difference between what happened in Ferguson in the US to what happened in this case in Punta Gorda, Belize. This officer could have arrested the thief. We have just endorsed the uneducated police officers in Belize to make it an open season on civilians. The sad part is the highest government seats in the country condones these brutal barbaric acts. The justice system is so broken in Belize it is a shame to the world.
