Harrison Pledges Change to Voters of Cayo North

Richard Harrison

As we told you earlier in our newscast, the PUP has endorsed businessman Richard Harrison as their candidate in Cayo North. Harrison will go up against a well funded, popular Omar Figueroa who has had months to prepare. He is the underdog for sure, but he’s not backing down either. Harrison says that he’s going to give the people of Cayo North a viable option, and he believes that he believes that based on a desire for change, he will be victorious.

Richard Harrison, Selected as Candidate for Cayo North

“We are in a battle here to change what is happening in our country. We have a government that is destroying what is the fabric of Belize. I believe, personally and I’ve written about it many occasions, that the Belize economy with the place where it is at, we must turn around the Belize economy and create more jobs. There are too many persons without jobs. We have to be a P.U.P. that will be creating a lot of jobs in this country. The people are fed up with corruption. The man said that if corruption raises its head, he has a sharp machete that he would cut the head off of corruption and what we are seeing in this country and every week there is raising more and more news, and evidence of corruption. Not only that, but of a government that breaks its own laws and then drags out the public to get the court of public opinion to endorse what is illegal by the own government of Belize laws. I think that how the people are taking these things seriously. When I went down to Cayo to do my assessment of whether I can deliver the seat of this party, I found that there is a large number of people in my constituency in Cayo North who are ready to change this government. This is the basic reason why I accepted this responsibility. This is not a small responsibility for me; it is a big one and I take it very seriously. And I promise you the people of Cayo North, if given the opportunity by you, that I will do my very best in the government of Belize with the P.U.P. to bring change not only to Cayo North, but to the people of Belize. That’s my pledge to you.”

I am happy that Richard Harrison was selected to be the REPRESENTATIVE FOR PUP AND CAYO NORTH. As a BUSINESSMAN he can breed ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT INTO THE BELIZEAN PEOPLE which is very much needed, so Belizean can gain confident not to rely on government or obtaining EMPLOYMENT but become EMPLOYERS.

  2. Concern says:

With your experience and the knowledge gained, you will be a good person to encourage entrepreneurship in our country. We need that kind of protection.

  3. Observer says:

Harrison used to be a decent honest guy and that is why he dropped out of politics years ago when the PUP wanted him.
Looks like all the failed business ventures and lack of money, hunger and need to provide for the family has changed his ways.
He now wants to be a member of the back stabbing corruption squad.
    What a disgrace.
If the PUP win he will get rich but if the UDP win he will be deeper in the hole.
    Like buying a lottery ticket.

  4. Patriot says:

Is OBSERVER insinuating that his gov’t is vindictive when he/she says “…but if the UDP win he will be deeper in the hole?”

  5. Observer says:

All governments are vindictive when in power.
