No Suspects or Leads in Latest Homicide
On Wednesday morning, twenty-eight-year-old Robert Tracy, a resident of Holy Emmanuel Street, was gunned down as he sat on a stool inside a yard on Wagner’s Lane. A single shot by a lone gunman had claimed the life of a young man whose history of run-ins with the law was rather lengthy. In the wake of the deadly shooting, Belize City police commenced an investigation into the homicide. Admittedly, Superintendent Hilberto Romero, Head of the Crimes Investigation Branch, told the media that there were no leads or a suspect in the fatal attack. It has been over thirty-six hours later and the ongoing investigation has led them no closer to making an arrest. It is believed that there may have been several witnesses who either saw the incident as it unfolded or observed the gunman as he made good his escape down the backstreet. Despite their hunch, Tracy’s killer remains on the loose. Prior to his demise, Wang, as he was known to many, had been targeted on several occasions, the latest attack being in mid-February when he was shot in the back while walking on Central American Boulevard.
