Channel 5 celebrates its 23rd anniversary

Great Belize Productions/Channel Five has reached another milestone. Today we celebrate twenty-three years of broadcasting. The company was established in 1982 as a production unit, and in 1991 it obtained its first licence to broadcast which was followed by the first live newscast. A lot has happened since then as the company has continued to grow in leaps and bounds. There are many great things happening here, including an abiding loyalty from staff members who have been with us all that time. Another trademark of the company is the exceptional quality of production in everything that we do. We also acknowledge the support from our faithful viewers who stay tuned to our newscasts as well as all local programming. And of course, we express our appreciation to every single individual who is part of the Channel Five family. Even as we transitioned from Regent Street to Coney Drive, we have remained committed to excellence, service of our community and country and the satisfaction of our viewers countrywide. Tonight we look back at a small snapshot of the company’s history, seen through the eyes of founder Stewart Krohn in 1992. We’re sure you’ll recognize some of the faces.
