American Researcher Booted from Belize for Immigration Offense

Timothy Joseph Eales

A removal ordered requested by the Belize Immigration Department was granted for the expulsion of thirty-two-year-old Timothy Joseph Eales from Belize.  On Friday, December nineteenth, Eales was picked up by police and handed over to the Belize City Immigration Department when he was unable to produce any documents to show his immigration status allowing him to remain in Belize legally.  This morning, he appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser after being held in police custody for four nights.  The assistant researcher was read a single charge of failure to produce documents when requested by Immigration Officer Roberto Gurnsey.  According to Eales, he has been in contact with the United States Embassy in Belmopan and he will be sent home as early as Saturday, in time for the New Year.  Timothy Joseph Eales is originally from Phoenix, Arizona.
