Avian Flu Detected in Cayo
It was confirmed today that the Avian Influenza Type A has been detected in two poultry farms in the Spanish Lookout area, Cayo District. BAHA says the outbreak is limited and that measures have been put in place to prevent the poultry and poultry products from leaving the farms. BAHA is also mentoring other farms. While there is no need for alarm, BAHA advises commercial and backyard poultry farmers across the country to step up their bio security measures and to notify BAHA of any unusual occurrence in their flocks. BAHA also says that poultry meat and eggs are safe for human consumption. The agency further says that along its partners all the necessary measures to address this disease outbreak are in place. It is suspected that wild bird migration is the most likely source of the infection.

Lies upon lies. These people should be sued for reporting this.
