…Says Barrow Will Be Next Opposition Leader

The Prime Minister has jubilantly placed Barnett against Fonseca in a political battle for Freetown, and only time will tell how that plays out. But in the meantime, Barrow is also poking fun at Fonseca at every possible turn, claiming that the P.U.P. leader’s days are numbered. Today, we asked Fonseca for a response which he was only too happy to give.

“The only change of leader in the Opposition will come when the general elections are called and he, Mr. Barrow, if he remains as the leader of the U.D.P….he will then be the leader of the Opposition. That is the only time the leader of the Opposition will change. So let him call the general elections and yes, we will have a new leader of the Opposition – him, or maybe it will be Gapi Vega – who knows. That is the only time we will have a change in the leader of the Opposition in this country.”
