Phony Certificates for Sale on Facebook

Months ago, a B.T.B. employee was discovered to have presented fake university records to qualify for a promotion at the B.T.B.  When it came to light, he resigned and that was the end of the matter. We bring this back because for days, an advertisement has been circulating on social media in which someone called “Diploma Guy” is offering for sale fake high school diplomas all the way up to masters degrees for schools in Belize, USA and as far as Europe. The going price is listed at four thousand dollars a shot and it takes one to two weeks to deliver. The deal is easy and simple to complete. The person buying pays thirty percent deposit; and the balance is paid on delivery of the phony certificates. The scam has come to the attention of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports which has reacted to the online offer of phony documents. The Ministry advises that under the Criminal Code persons engaged in the Forgery of Documents, Processing of False Documents and the Procurement of Documents will be liable to imprisonment for two years. And those found guilty as a common Forger is liable to life imprisonment.

The sale of Certificates and Diplomas are nothing new; fifty years ago there was this qusi-university doing the same thing in England and America. They based their argument on a person like my grandson Hector Silva lll; he is in the computer industry since he was 12 years old and has 20 years of assembling and repair of all sorts of computers and accessories, from Microsoft DOS to today’s operating Systems, installs both Ethernet network and wireless network, graduates of universities would call him for help with their systems. I say at age 32, he deserves to be awarded with Diploma of Master of Arts in Computer Technology; he is also a graduate of Saint Johns Collage.

Could have been a much better read had the new company engaged it further and attempted to solicit the documents!
