Did Female Escort Butcher Oscar Grijalva Inside Hotel Bathroom?

Two men were murdered in a span of seven hours on Thursday. In the city, an Ontario resident was found dead in the bathroom of a small guesthouse. He is caretaker forty-nine year old Oscar Grijalva who arrived at the Isabel Guest House on Albert Street in the morning accompanied by an alleged female escort. Hours later she left and he was found dead. And it is likely that she didn’t go empty-handed because Grijalva’s money is missing. Duane Moody reports.

Who would want to Oscar Amilcar Grijalva dead? That’s the question running through the minds of his family as they sit inside the Police Station on Queen Street in Belize City. The forty-nine year old caretaker of Ontario Village had a cut would to the throat and was stabbed multiple times to the chest and on both arms. His body was lying face up inside the bathroom of room number one at Isabel Guest House.

“Around three-fifty p.m., police responded to a report at a guesthouse situated at number three Albert Street, Belize City where upon arrival, they checked inside one of the rooms of the guesthouse where they found the lifeless body of one Oscar Grijalva, forty-nine years, a Belizean caretaker of Ontario Village, Cayo District. He was found with multiple stab wounds to the chest and to the throat and he was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Grijalva arrived at the guesthouse around eleven-thirty on Thursday morning in the company of a woman. Three hours later, the woman would be seen leaving the room without Grijalva. His body was made sometime after three p.m. by the cleaner of the guesthouse.

“We know that he had some monies with him and that is all that we know. We do not have an exact motive at this time. Like I mention, we have one person that we are looking for as a person of interest in this case.”

“Sir do you believe or is the investigation showing that this man went to this room to have intimate engagement with a woman and that’s the suspect that you are looking for?”

“I will not mention any further information regarding that. Like I mentioned, we have one person of interest. And he was found in that guestroom dead.”

But what was Grijalva doing in the city?

“He is a caretaker from Ontario, he lives at that village; he came to the city to collect some monies for some workers that he was supposed to pay.”

“So he was only here for one day?”

“Yes, he just came to collect monies and he was supposed to return to Ontario Village the same day.”

No murder weapon has been recovered and police are now looking for a person in connection with this murder. Duane Moody for News Five.
