P.U.P. Leaders Say Recording Will Be Handled Internally

The hour-long recording was leaked on Tuesday, but last Friday, the Prime Minister said that he was going to make it available. In it, Briceño claims that tens of millions of dollars were misappropriated during the previous P.U.P. administration by persons he referred to as the cancer in the party. He also claimed that government had lost millions of dollars in deals gone wrong. While not new, those allegations are not going to go away in a hurry, and certainly not before general elections which can be called at the whim of Prime Minister Dean Barrow.

“Well, you know, the bottom line is that it’s an internal matter for the People’s United Party.”

“It’s actually a public matter, sir.”

“No, it’s not a public matter. It’s an internal matter. We are dealing with that and you have heard from the leaders of the party today that we are dealing with it and we are committed to working together moving forward. We will address that issue within our party and we are confident that we will be able to move forward as united as possible.”

“Will Mr. Briceño be sanctioned?”

“We discussed that today and as I said it’s an internal matter.”

“But it’s a people’s party. It’s a public party.”

“It’s a public party but there are many other issues. We are committed to working together. That is the message from today’s meeting.”

“Do you think it’s hypocrisy from the government in the way they addressed this particular tape versus the Mark King tape. Do you think pressure should have also been put for the release of the Mark King tape?”

“I find it amazing that the media has been preoccupied with this tape of John Briceño when in fact there is also a tape making serious allegations of murder against the Deputy Prime Minister of this country, and not a question has been asked by the media of the Prime Minister about that.”

“Well I haven’t heard it.”

“How do you feel about what Mr. Briceño said about you?”
Said Musa
“Well I feel that all he said was false. And I know it was false. What his state of mind was I don’t know. But I can tell you that we discussed it fully today and I am satisfied that we have a way to move forward now.”
News Five understands that the call for Briceño’s head was made by Deputy Leader, Julius Espat, who is named most specifically by Briceño in the recording. Briceño claims that while acting as National Campaign Manager in the 2012 general elections, Espat used money slated for national use to pump into his own area, Cayo South and that while the margin of victory for Espat was huge, two constituencies in Cayo lost by very small margins.

The PUP party is made up of the leaders/candidates etc PLUS the FOLLOWERS and members. No internal matter in this. The PUP followers ARE STILL in the majority – to the chagrin of the UDP. But that is a FACT. So Fonseca better listen to the followers. INTERNAL MATTER!! Weh he di cum fram!!
Mr Fonseca is missing the point completely. He is not listening to the voters – PUP VOTERS. They are telling him to CLEAN UP the party. Meaning replace those “candidates” who are imposed on the divisions – who were not selected by conventions. Those candidates who were involved in wrong doing EVEN if alleged. Use the factual evidence and forget about the legal evidence. There people in the party who upset the voters, period.
If he insist on doing The clean up his way COME ELECTIONS THEY WILL VOTE FOR EACH OTHER AND THAT’S ALL THE VOTES THEY WILL GET.

That’s why they will continue to lose elections. They still refuse to listen to the voice of the PEOPLE. They always circle the wagons and box out the people they want to elect them. As long as those old thieving cronies are still in the PUP, the people knows nothing will change. I can see some of the UDP election slogans already. UDP fanatic saying something that would be good for the country, and then they playing Briceno saying ” Francis don’t give a F@#%.”

can you smell what the PUP is cooking? this is nothing strange everyone watching knew this was going to happen. for a long time this party has had problem internally and it’s affecting their followers. So if they intend to run a race for next election start to shave off those bad ones from the party or else you’ll end up watching form the bleachers again. Corruption has plague both parties but this party has touched bottom and hope the present one doesn’t do it blatant because this is a reality and a fresh example. We the 43% of the population that never voted are part of those taking a stand of anti-corruption parties and we tend not vote since we trust none of them
John Briceno told the truth,simple. It’s the truth that is on every voters mind. Every time Francis shows up on tv, Musa is in the background. It’s like Superman with Lex Luther in the background holding a bag of kryptonite. If u have no money, u need credibility. Nobody articulates a position better in the PUP than Said Musa. But he is a hollow, empty, thieving barrel. Briceno is absolutely right. Musa needs to go. He has done enormous damage to the party. Those that don’t have the balls to tell him to go will get lynched after we lose the next general elections.
Now he tells reporter that he does not care if he, the reporter does not like it, they will do their way. He refuses to listen. The PUP is a MASS party, made up off followers also. He better listen. If he insists he is making the party look like a private CLUB like LIONS or ROTARY. Well, then let us ask Rotary to run for elections. Or the Boy Scouts! Come on Francis listen to the party members.
