Swedish Student Busted with Drug Paraphernalia in Caye Caulker

Harmish Miller Rees Malins

A Sweden student was before the court today after he was busted on Caye Caulker in possession of a pipe used for smoking drugs and one point three grams of weed found inside his backpack.  This morning, after spending the weekend in lock down, nineteen year old Harmish Miller Rees Malins, was arraigned before Magistrate Ladonna John.  Caye Caulker police say Malins was detained on April fourteenth in the island when he was hanging out with a group of men. In court, Malins wasted no time and pleaded guilty to both offenses.  He was fined one hundred dollars, for possession of the pipe, and fifty dollars for the weed charge. The Swedish national was also ordered to pay the fines immediately or face prison time.

It is time our country moved out of the STONE AGE and completely embrace the legalization of the
HERB known as marijuana. There are cases of the oil curing skin cancers, there is also evidence,
as seen on CNN last weekend, that it also helps with PTSD, that all Belizeans suffer from living with
such a violent system in place. There was a store in Colorado, it paid $20,000 for a license and
twenty, I can’t recall exactly, or 25% TAXES And took in $49,000 the first day!!!
WHO NEEDS OIL????????????????? Tourism is where its at. Time to make some real money!!!
Not bully tourists for a few crumbs of mother nature.

OMG really!!!! if it was a Belizean I bet we would have to pay something close to 1k for those charges…. that’s why Belize is getting so corrupted because the people with power are allowing others to get away with doing nonsense in our country…. I swear Belize is going to get worse and worse because of some of the nincompoops in high places!!

The law is the law! Regardless of who they are, they should respect it! Belizeans are too complacent that is why we have all of this nastiness with the gays wanting to change our laws … now the marijuana …. what the heck … make it a no rule of law Country! I am sure the International Community would be happy!

LOL! This IS Caye Caulker. I was recently there with my 3 kids. My young son was approached by a resident and offered him some weed. He said “it’s Bob Marleys birthday”. My son just ran from him. Why? Because the night befor, we were told a story of how the local police will arest the buyer, fine him pocket the money, and return the weed to the seller to do all over again. Nice arrangement. We found most residents to be wonderful but the government a joke. Definitely obey the rules and you wont need to deal with the corruption
