Number of influenza H1N1 cases increase
Turning to the north, there is one more confirmed case of the influenza A H1N1 to add to the list. A release from the Ministry of Health today confirms that there are now fifteen confirmed cases of the influenza, also known as swine flu. The release further states that all fifteen cases are from the Corozal District and are linked to the Free Zone. On Monday’s newscast, we reported that results from testing at CAREC in Trinidad showed that fourteen samples had tested positive for the strain. Twenty-two other samples from across the country are outstanding, and the Ministry maintains that there is no need at this time to limit any mass gatherings or to change travel plans.
