The media has elected to not repeat specific allegations against the PM in the Hulse recording, but today the social media lit up bright all day long, gag order or not. Since November, when then PUP Cayo North Area Representative Joseph Mahmud tendered a rather abrupt resignation from the House, the PUP maintained that he had been bought off by Petrocaribe monies. When former PUP Dangriga Area Rep Ivan Ramos did the same, just as abruptly, the PUP assertion was the same. So the Hulse allegations are, to the PUP, validation and vindication.

“It is true, it is happening…just that people are trying to hide it and avoid the fact. People are being bought out from the PUP. And people are being paid and basically bought out within the UDP. That’s the reality that we are facing. And that’s why I say we need to have discipline. We need to have order because that’s the only way we can stand strong against an evil force. And so I take no shame in saying that, and if anybody feels that that is wrong then that’s their point of view but I will stand by what I believe in. And what I believe in is for the Belizean people to realize that they have to take back this nation. We have to save our democracy. And if we have weak ones that come along and accept the money then its best that they go now and not two weeks before a general election!
In a text message to the media today, Mahmud dismissed any allegation that he had been paid off to resign as, quote – “baseless and false.” While he communicated by text, though, he declined an interview in which, of course, we would have been able to press him further.

The politics you are playing does not work and will not work. Don’t you see that the people are just O K with the development of infra structure. This develops and grows the economy indirectly. You don’t need a master degree to know this.
Change the politics you want to play ,talk about unemployment, poverty alleviation, free education, empowering the people etc.
