Boots Says Guatemala Cannot Stop FOB!

Earlier in the newscast, we told you that Guatemala is objecting to the proposed construction of a forward operating base. This morning, we also had the take of the Port Loyola area rep., Anthony “Boots” Martinez, who says that Guatemala can’t stop Belize from building an FOB in our own territory.

“I haven’t heard about that but I don’t know about any such information that could deter a forward operating base that should be built in our territory for any country or any government to say cease and desist to build in your country. Haven’t heard about it, but I am certain that that is nothing in my view that I would ever agree on as a Belizean and as a minister of government. I haven’t heard anything official in regards to the operating forward base. But any proposed forward base that government intends to do in our territory, I don’t see how any country could deter that; I’m sorry sir.”
