3 Years for Sexually Assaulting Minor

Charles Bucknor

A Vernon Street man who was accused of performing oral sex on a thirteen year old primary school girl was convicted and sentenced to three years imprisonment which is the maximum jail time for the sexual offense. Fifty-two year old Charles Bucknor was found guilty of Aggravated Assault of an Indecent Nature upon a school girl earlier today. The victim and her parents as well her great grand aunt were witnesses for the prosecution. The victim testified that she was abused on July sixteenth, 2013 when she was alone and Bucknor and another man were working at her house. He sent his co-worker to the shop and then entered her room, pinned her down on the bed and threatened to hurt her if she tried to scream. He then removed her underwear and performed oral sex on her. According to the girl, he stopped when the he heard the co-worker return.  Immediately after the incident, the girl said she called her mother who returned to the house with her father. Bucknor denied the allegations saying he had no idea the child was at the house and only became aware when she asked him to go buy for her at the shop. In finding him guilty today, Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith told Bucknor that, he seemed to have had a lapse of memory in trial, but in her view, he is a pervert who took advantage of a defenseless girl.  With that he was sent behind bars.

Had this man, been in the USA he’d gotten the Maximum Sentence. Which is 10 to 20 years in State Prison. I’m at lose for this child, I pray that she is mentally well, and that this situation does’nt affect her. In the near future.
