Driver in Fatal Road Traffic Accident Wanted by Ladyville Police

Last Friday, thirty-year-old Shane Goff and fifty-two-year-old Alden Locke were killed in a traffic accident that occurred around five-thirty between miles six and seven on the Philip Goldson Highway. The pickup they were traveling in collided head-on into a car that was traveling towards Ladyville, but was overtaking another vehicle and could not avoid the collision. The drivers of the pickup and the car, Roan Sheng and Ethon Belisle, were both served with notice of intended prosecution. Sheng remains hospitalized, but Belisle has still not turned himself into police and Senior Superintendent Edward Broaster told the media today that he is wanted by police for traffic related offenses.

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster, Regional Commander, Rural Eastern Division

“Both drivers were served with notices of intended prosecution. The driver, Ethon Belisle checked himself out of the hospital the very night of the accident. His attorney had promised to bring him in for the charges that will be levied against him for the accident and the double fatality.”

“Now sir, by all indications, last week when we spoke with you, it was clear that the driver of the Mercedes was at fault. Now what does it say to people that take these chances on the highways and speeding and all of that?”

“Well as of today, I hope that Mister Gordon invites you all on the ride-around. We will be enforcing speed; we have obtained a speed gun and we’ll be enforcing speed and other traffic violations between Haulover Bridge and the Sand Hill junction.”

Duane Moody

“Would you say that the driver of the vehicle is evading police?”

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster

“At this time, yes.”

Reporter

“Is he wanted?”

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster

“Yes.”

“Can you talk to us about the condition of the other persons in the vehicle? I know several others, I think at least three other persons were inside that vehicle and they too received injuries from the impact.”

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster

“Right, the other victims received minor injuries. I know the only other person that is in the hospital currently getting attended to by the physicians at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital is the driver of the pickup truck, Roan Sheng. He obtained a fractured left foot and other injuries to the chest.”

  1. CEO says:

I agree that motorists on that road drive very reckless but how can the police enforce speeding when there are no visible speed limit signs in place?
