Deputy ComPol Miguel Segura Sued by Family of Deceased Accident Victim
Deputy Commissioner of Police Miguel Segura, who remains on interdiction, following a fatal road traffic accident on August sixteenth, 2014, is being sued by the family of Yolanda Valencia. The fifty-five-year-old woman was a passenger inside a taxicab driven by Yanie Cu when she perished in a head-on collision with the government-issued Nissan Pathfinder assigned to Segura. The accident occurred near mile seventy-one on the George Price Highway. In a lawsuit filed by Guadalupe Valencia, she is seeking damages for negligence in Yolanda’s death. The mother is also seeking to recover monies for Valencia’s funeral expenses, as well as loss of income since her daughter’s earnings were used to defray various expenses. Valencia is being represented by attorney Kareem Musa.
