Santi’s Handing Over to Darrell Bradley in Cari Shores was Seamless
In April, Santiago ‘Santino’ Castillo stepped aside in Caribbean Shores to make way for current Belize City Mayor and aspiring Area Representative Darrell Bradley. That signalled the end of a very short-lived political career, though Castillo is still serving as a Minister of State. But does his departure from Caribbean Shores mean he’ll be retiring from politics completely? News Five caught up to him at an event in San Pedro and asked.
Santiago Castillo, Area Rep. Caribbean Shores
“I have told the Prime Minister that I am here to serve him and his next UDP Government in any capacity he sees fit. I am going to be sixty and I can still advise our companies in an advising capacity. I can still assist our companies and I can still do the public life. Quite honestly I enjoy them both, so I plan to continue doing them both.”
Mike Rudon
“How has the transition gone between your committee and Darrell’s committee in terms of his active campaign now?”
Santiago Castillo
“I personally feel it has gone smoothly. I handed over the Caribbean Shores office to him and his people, including some that were my people have taken it over and I think it has gone, quite honestly very smoothly. I pass there, it’s a block away from my house and I think it is going very well actually. And I think that Darrell stands a very good chance in Caribbean Shores, and if he needs my assistance on Election Day, whenever that is called, I’m here to assist Caribbean Shores.”
Castillo confirmed that he was not invited to attend Darrell Bradley’s convention in Caribbean Shores.
Tell the public about the behind scene quid pro quo. Darrel gets Caribbean Shores, SanCas get the inside track on all real estate investments with Southeby’s and the gaming licenses and the per capita tax and the other icing on top to provide government/the people’s lands to Southeby’s investors. Great going SanCas . Stupid Belizeans cannot see through this veil of corruption. What else is new. Santi, I thought class but you are just as low class as the beggar who stole your Red Bull and went to jail for one year. How long will you go to jail for steaing from the public?
