Three persons remain in police custody tonight in Corozal after the body of an American national was found on his farm in the village of Xiabe in the northern district. Corozal police are still trying to figure out a motive behind this latest homicide that occurred sometime between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning when the mutilated body of forty-nine year old John Ross was discovered by three men who visited his farm to buy sheep. Ross had been living in Xiabe for the past six years until his untimely death. He was found face up in the ground beside a septic tank, with chop wounds to his neck, face and his right arm was missing. Nothing was stolen from the house. However, Ross’ son, Chris, is one of the men detained by police. Chris had reportedly been living with his father up until two weeks ago, when he moved out following a family dispute. His mother left Belize and relocated to the U.S.

this is my brother and his son/my nephew has been released from police custody. He was not living with my brother two weeks ago he has been on his own for several months. He was definitely still alive Sunday night around 9 o’clock my time( u.s) because him and I were chatting online and he said he had to go because his battery died. If anybody knows anything please please please let the police or the family know.
