Minerva Blancaneaux Says Tzib Needs Real Help…Not Incarceration
Blancaneaux says that her family is seeking closure for the death of their brother and son. But they also want Tzib to get the help she needs. According to Minerva Blancaneaux – Tzib won’t get that if she is just released into society, and she also won’t get it if she is incarcerated at the Belize Central Prison.

“I feel that she needs to be in a controlled environment where somebody will be responsible for ensuring that not only does she get the counselling but that she continues to take her medication in a timely manner in order to have some benefit from it. Otherwise there is no way it’s going to work.
If she is released, she goes back home. I don’t know how much she will listen to her mom and how well that will help her. And there’s nothing else out there. I feel she does not deserve to be in prison. That’s not where she will get the help that she needs. There’s nothing there to help her. But neither is releasing her into society because like I said she is very unstable and our concern is what she would do to herself or what she would do to somebody else. And it would be unfortunate and again, it’s very sad that it had to get to the point of her taking a life for more attention to be given to this case.”
As we said Tzib will be back in court next week Friday for another bail hearing.
