Faber offended by Opponent’s Criticism…But Says Victory Will Be Overwhelming

Patrick Faber

The criticism by his opponents is that Faber is one of seven ministers, who are in control of Belize City constituencies, yet these are the most neglected areas. Faber and his colleagues are accused of failing to provide for the needs of residents. Faber clearly took offense saying that he is not fazed by what his opponents have to say and believes he will win by an even larger margin.

Patrick Faber, Area Rep., Collet

“This is my fourth general elections; every time that I have ran, the people elect me with a larger and larger margin and so people are pleased with the job that we do. They are the ones that say the power of the people. The people always know best and the people vote for us because the people know what benefits they have. It is never easy pulling a constituency out of poverty. I found the constituency very much impoverish. In fact my first term in office, I was in Opposition. In my other two terms, which is as you know a little over seven and a half years, the number one tool they criticize is education. We’ve educated a lot of people; we’ve tried to give the kind of assistance that will see the people pull themselves up. The Food Pantry, the BOOST Program. It’s not a handout; it is a help to people while they better off themselves. And I am willing to bet anybody—my opponents will never see it because they see how they want to see things—that after a few years of continuing along the path that we are on now, you, will see development in our area.”

“The opponent says that she has been on the ground and people are quietly pledging her support for her. She is pulling, according to her, persons who would have voted for you on her side. Is that a concern for you?”

Patrick Faber

“Not at all, in fact, as I have said, I believe my margin this election, the fourth time around, will be even bigger than the last margin of victory that we had in Collet. And I will tell you; this is the easiest opponent that I’ve had to beat. This lady, I wonder sometimes. I think she is—as I’ve said in my Facebook page—a bit loony. I watched as she gave you all an interview and in fact Jules sent me a text saying that she was in an altercation with my people and that they broke her phone. I believe that she is playing victim. She wants to behave like that to have people sympathize with her. We have never ran a violent campaign nor do we need to run any violent campaign. She has a handful of supporters; we saw them out on nomination day. I can call them out to you and named them on my fingers and toes. Of course, there are some people who are diehard fanatics of the P.U.P.; I will never be able to change those. There are some people who will not like me; everybody won’t ever like you and always be a fan of what you do. But the vast majority of the residents of Collet will go out on November fourth and return me. I am losing no sleep over my opponent.”

  1. Prig Minister, Ali BaBarrow says:

    Great minister F In education.

Took the country to the bottom. We need stupid Belizeans to keep voting us. If they were educated they might figure the elections are rigged.

His next wife will shut up when he beats her. He learned his lesson, he is the minister of education, it is his job.

Meantime, pool party at his place. Special party favors for the hot girls.
