Opposition Senators to File Motion at Next Sitting

Lisa Shoman

Collusion within the various government departments remains a serious issue for the P.U.P.  In this case, it has been reported that the signatures on Nanes travel documents were the same ones that appeared on Citizen Kim’s passport, facilitated by former Minister of State Elvin Penner.  A motion, according to Senator Lisa Shoman, will be brought before the Senate in an upcoming sitting.

Lisa Shoman, P.U.P. Senator

“This causes the People’s United Party grave concern.  We demand that there must be an explanation for it and we also declare that we intend not to rest on this matter but to raise all the issues again that were raised in the Pennergate situation.  There is one media house that is reporting that the same individuals involved with Penner in the Wong Hong Kim matter are the same individuals that issued a paper trail for this so-called David Banes.  And if that is so Isani, it raises the issue all over again and, as you know, the clock starts to run again on the matter of Elvin Penner, what he did at Immigration, who did it along with him and what happened because this is bringing into question once again our citizenship and passport and it is going to cause us serious problems as a nation.  We’ve lost so much international credibility as it is.  We also intend, among other things, to raise this in the House Meeting which is coming up on December fourth and the People’s United Party, through the Senate, will also be bringing back a motion demanding that there be an investigation.  The prime minister has an obligation to present the auditor general’s report, he’s been sitting on it.  He must bring it to the House and we intend to bring a motion in the Senate to investigate everything that has happened from Wong Hong Kim to whatever Minister Castro was doing to this latest outrage with Nanes Schnitzer.  I think all Belizeans demand an explanation for this.”

We’ll have more on Nanes later in the newscast.

I agree, Belizean deserve to know the truth and all involved should be put on trial. Enough selling of passports and land giveaways.

  2. Al says:

Again a motion in futility. The PUP will still have the minority as all the other senators will gang up with the UDP senators. Well, its what we voted for. So why rail up? Its obvious we Belizeans want to stay with the corrupted status quo.

  3. Hatari says:

Just remember people, you re-elected these crooks.
