Northern Regional Hospital receives upgrade
Having made major renovations at the KHMH and two Belize City health centres, the Government of Belize will now embark on badly needed improvements at the Northern Regional Hospital in Orange Walk. Construction will begin Monday on a project to revamp the institution’s water and sewerage facilities. Components include a ten thousand gallon water tank to be used as a standby supply, a ten thousand gallon per day sewage treatment plant and an upgrade of the system’s tile field. The effort, which forms part of the Health Sector Reform Project, is funded by the Interamerican Development Bank along with a counterpart contribution from the Government of Belize. Total cost is four hundred and seventeen thousand dollars. The contract has been awarded to Medina Construction and should be completed by the end of March.
