Mechanic Remanded for Unlawful Sex with Minor

A Belize City Mechanic of Evergreen Street, Lake Independence, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison in the wake of an allegation against him by a fifteen year old that he had been having unlawful sex with her since mid-2015 and as recent as Boxing Day 2015.  This morning, thirty-seven year old Denfield Davis was arraigned before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser for four counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and one count of grievous harm. According to the minor, the sexual abuse started when she was fourteen years old. Davis was remanded until February fifth, 2016.  Davis, whose relatives were present in court, has sought legal advice from attorney Dickie Bradley and has begun the process of applying for bail at the Supreme Court. But for now, he is on remand.
