Jonathan Zetina Viciously Attacked with Machete Near Belmopan
Of the ten murders so far reported in 2016, five have been terrible deaths from wounds inflicted by machetes or knives. Tonight one youth is lucky to escape being a murder statistic, but wasn’t lucky enough to escape some nasty wounds. Eighteen year old Jonathan Zetina, a Ladyville resident, showed up at the Roaring Creek Police Station just as his mother was filing a missing person report. He was taken there by somebody who told Police they picked him up in Cotton Tree Village. Zetina had gaping wounds to the head and the back of his neck. Two of his fingers had been chopped off. Today, Zetina’s attorney Lisa Shoman issued a brief statement on his behalf. The youth claims that on Wednesday he was driving to Belmopan in the company of persons known to him when he was attacked at gunpoint by those persons. Zetina claims that he was, “marched into the nearby bush where he was viciously cut with a machete.” That’s when he managed to escape his attackers and ran onto the road where he was picked up by a Good Samaritan. Belmopan Police are looking for three men – Oswald Arnold, Orlando Smith and Joseph Cadle in connection with the chopping.
It’s all about love and kindness in Belize.
@Spike Yes my brother!
How can it be all about love and kindness if this is happening constantly. I don’t understand Belizeans should be for each other and not against each other. I’m a belizean and I just can’t understand why we are hurting our own people. It makes no sense.
