Mennonites Busted With Weed at Checkpoint

Four persons, two Americans and two Mennonites, of the Spanish Lookout area were busted on Sunday, inside a Toyota Four-Runner. They were found to be in possession of twelve point four grams of weed when they pulled up at a police checkpoint at the Burrell Boom cut off on the Phillip Goldson Highway. Appearing before Magistrate Carlon Mendoza were twenty-two year old Mennonite farmer, Bernard Elias, along with twenty-one year old American/Mennonite, Bobby Hiebert, nineteen year old American national, Hunter Brand and eighteen year old student, Izzabella Brand. After spending the night in lockdown, the four persons were charged with possession of a controlled drug.  Hiebert took the rap and pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined three hundred dollars, while the three others pleaded not guilty. Police searched the vehicle at the checkpoint due to the strong aroma of marijuana. The weed was found inside a bottle placed inside a school bag.

    Its no surprise that some the Mennonite youths smoke the herb, but really for a small amount mein it’s crazy their police records tarnished for a simple amount, what about the big drug lords that bring in stocks some with strings attached to politicians?

    Yeah you are absolutely right, Belize secret service , top brass and politician know who these people in high places are ; but because of whatever protocol they are cosine red untouchables. As is the case the establishment decides and with dollars comes power Simply put the big rule and do as they please.
