Faber Will Go For U.D.P. Leadership Post in 2020
The United Democratic Party will also be holding a national convention in March. But unlike the P.U.P., there will be no elections since at the close of nominations on Friday; the executive in place remained unchallenged. According to Faber, he will be entering the leadership race in the 2020 U.D.P. convention.
Patrick Faber, Member, U.D.P.
“We have our own process, a different process and if gave us a chance to look at something else and to determine if it something that is workable in our own system. But from my own check there are people in our party who believe in the system that we have and so I am not indicating in any means that there will be any change in the way how we do things. Our convention comes up on March twentieth and as you may have heard by now, the deadline for the applications for any of those top positions would have been on Friday evening and in fact there were no applications other than those who fill the positions now. That is Mister Barrow as leader, Mister Vega as first deputy, Mister Contreras as the second deputy and Mister Alberto August as the chairman of the party. So we expect that on the twentieth of March, we’ll go to our convention to endorse them and to hold steady on that until of course what I’ve described to be the big dance in the early part of 2020.”
Faber says the next convention following the March twentieth endorsement will be in 2020.
