Tricia Gideon, CSME Focal Point, Belize
“We’ve seen a slow pace however the last two years we have been embarking on a huge campaign so that people could understand some of the benefits and we have seen an increase in the application for skill certificates and an increase in people who are interested to know how they can move in the region. So we are hoping that this increase continues but it has been slow initially.”
Duane Moody
“Would you say that is due to maybe lack of information? Not knowing what the process is? That’s why we haven’t seen people coming forward of taking advantage of this?”
Tricia Gideon
“I know what we did at our ministry was to create a booklet that describes all five areas that you can access these benefits and the steps and the people you must go to. So you know you can call us but we have this online and we have at our offices that you can take the booklet and share so it is easy for people to quickly reference and understand who can assist them in each process.”
