Patrick Faber Discusses Campaign Funding
Since both candidates threw their hats into the ring following Gaspar Vega’s departure as first deputy leader, several area representatives have come out in full support of their candidate of choice. Faber was first to openly declare his candidacy and was initially endorsed by political mentor Michael Finnegan, as well as Manuel Heredia Junior and Elodio Aragon Junior. Saldivar, who did not emerge with much fanfare, is now picking up support from cabinet colleagues, including those in the western caucus, as well as Dangriga Area Rep Frank ‘Pawpa’ Mena. On the other side, Patrick Faber says he is confident in the number of delegates he has secured thus far. His campaign is also being funded by his closest supporters.
Patrick Faber, Candidate for Deputy Leader
“I think when you watch the lineup, although when you check with my opponent he will tell you otherwise, it is an almost neck-to-neck race, a dead heat and I would want to give him the benefit of the doubt, even though I don’t think it would be accurate, give him sixteen and give me fifteen. But, you see, there are those who commit to him, who, as I’ve indicated their delegates are not with them. When I tell you I have fifteen, I have those committees with the delegates locked in and in fact, over the course of the next few weeks as we move into that convention, we will continue to lock in even more. My support is not shaky, in fact next week when we start rolling out the footage and the commercials and so on, you will see full delegations offering their support for the candidacy of Patrick Faber. Not like just the leader of the constituency because that race is pretty much we know where most people lie now.”

“This campaign that you’re undertaking is being funded by your own personal monies?”
Patrick Faber
“Well, to be honest, there are people who believe in my candidacy. I will tell people that that has always been the case how I have gotten monies for conventions. There are people who, of course, have a view about that kind of thing. But I will say to those people who have criticism for that kind of receiving of campaign financing. That for me, I do not take monies from any scrupulous businesspeople nor do I take monies from anybody who believes that they have me in their pocket and they can come and ask for favors afterwards. The people who support me believe in democracy, they believe in the work that I’ve done so far. They want to see me get to the position, in this instance, of Deputy Party [Leader] and maybe gradually to the leadership of the party. That is what they believe in and I’ll tell you I don’t have many people who have been helping me out. Some of my own money is going into this as well.”
Is this the one that like beat woman? Ja Ja what type of example will he give.
