    The border at the Sarstoon is official as declared by the United Nations at the same time it declared Belize’s independence. If Guatemala is refusing to acknowledge it and is exerting military rule in all of the Sarstoon, Belize can always seek the United Nation’s intervention through the UN military peace keepers, who should see to it that the official boundaries are respected until an ICJ ruling is passed. This is, of course, considering that both countries choose to go the ICJ, and do it promptly.
