5 Parcels of Marijuana Confiscated at Caye Caulker Airstrip
It’s relatively common knowledge that high-quality marijuana is being systematically brought in from Mexico and distributed to local areas heavily trafficked by tourists – like San Pedro and Caye Caulker and Placencia. It’s also common knowledge that while Police have been able to seize some of those shipments coming by road, that’s probably a drop in the bucket of drugs that actually reach their destination. One such drop did reach its destination at Caye Caulker, as far as the Tropic Air cargo section, when it was nabbed by accident. At around midday today, Customs and BAHA personnel were checking for un-customed good when they observed a white foam icebox on a shelf. The illicit cargo was given away by the strong scent of marijuana coming from the icebox, and Police were called in to take custody of five parcels of cannabis found in that container. Investigators are currently tracking down the sender and receiver, and just in case you’re wondering, it’s not so they can give them back their cargo.
Congratulations on confiscating a harmless plant that humans have been growing for thousands of years. I feel much safer now.
