Almagro Says O.A.S. Open to All Input

Luis Almagro

While Almagro has met with proponents of the ICJ alternative, is he open to hearing what COLA or BTV has to say?  In short, his answer is yes, but they would have to meet with him in Washington.

“Sir, you’re meeting with public officials who support going to the ICJ here in Belize.  Do you have any intention as the O.A.S. to meet with those unionists, with those community-based organizations, the BTV, COLA…”

Luis Almagro, Secretary General, O.A.S.

“Yes.  You know I am very open to have conversations about these matters with everybody, in Washington or here.  Everyone that asks for an appointment with me, he has or she has or he has it.  So there’s not a problem with that, I am extremely open and the mission here is extremely open about that.”

Secretary General Luis Almagro departed the country this morning, after spending two days meeting with government and O.A.S. officials in Belize.
